Corbridge Awayday – Friday 15th June
This months Awayday Walk takes us into Reiver county and the beautiful town of Corbridge. This wild Northumberland town encapsulates the spirit of the Reivers as well as the Northern end of the Roman Empire, stamped on the landscape by the mighty Hadrians Wall.
The walk is a circular route from Corbridge Bridge car park that takes us through the village to the Corstopitum Roman Site. From there we proceed to the Old Water Mill walking back along side the River Tyne and returning to the village centre.
Following the walk you will have approx. 2 hours to discover Corbridge town centre where you can shop in the local amenities or check out the Roman Site. Its up to you!
The coaches will depart from Ragworth Neighbourhood Centre at 9.30am, returning back to Ragworth at approx. 4.00pm. There is a small charge made to cover the travel costs, this is £5 for members and £8 for non-members. Please note: Booking is essential – this can be done by simply calling 0752 832 6094, or emailing to firstname.lastname@example.org . Stout footwear and sensible clothing is advisable.
