This weekend we’ve got Stockton’s Annual Festival of all things cycling. Three days of racing, sportives and fun and games.
Friday night hosts the Elite Criterium Racing that heads around Stockton City Centre, this is fast and frantic racing which needs nerves of steel as well as the fitness to win (starts at 19:45).
Saturday plays host to the large selection of different sportives available for anyone to join in on (though you should have pre-registered). These allow anyone to experience a mass start just like the Tour and allows anyone to challenge themselves against some of the toughest local terrain available (and it is tough).
Then on Sunday:
- Ride Stockton mass family ride up and down the Tees
- Riverside & Youth races where local teams will battle it out round the riverside
- Elite level Grand Prix Road Race, part of the British Cycling Elite Road Series that is televised on Eurosport.
- And Finally the Events Fair that includes Strider Bikes (balance bikes) for the little ones, the street velodrome for the bigger kids and those brave enough and a BMX tricks show for all of the family to enjoy.
We will of course be there ourselves, so pop on down and say Hi!
