This Saturday (24th January) staff & volunteers at the Hub, local army cadets and members of the local community will be heading down to the cycle path that joins Portrack Lane & Holme House prison to Norton. This section of cycle path is part of Sustrans’ NCN 1 and so we need to keep it in as good a nick as possible so that it remains safe to use for local residents and for those cyclists that are heading up the country and passing through Stockton on Tees. We’ll be meeting by the entrance to the cycle path at the roundabout outside Holme House Prison (see picture below) at 10:00am.
The roundabout is where the blue line turns back on itself.
Tools & materials will be provided by Sustrans, all we need is an hour or a couple of hours of your time to help litter pick, push back overgrown moss, clip back bushes and repaint over graffiti in the area. Please bring your own gloves and suitable clothing for working at this time of year as well as something to drink.
You’d be amazed at what you can achieve in a small amount of time with enough willing hands!
If you’re interested in helping out, please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning/e-mailing the Hub (details can be found at the bottom of the page) by Wednesday 21st January.
